MDaemon Automatic Update Setup

Introduction

MDaemon can periodically check for software updates. Licensed users can receive updates free for the duration of their “update protection” period. You can enable automatic update checking while installing the product. You can also do it any time later. These instruction show how to change the automatic update checking option after installation.

Requirements

Updates are free during the “update protection” period of your license. After this time, updates revert your license to a 30-day demo. You can change back to your paid-up license by downloading your paid-up licensed version from the MDaemon archives folder at http://files.altn.com/ and re-installing it.

You can update the demo software during the demo period. The demonstration license lasts for 30 days.

How To

The instructions start from the main screen of the MDaemon administration application. To configure MDaemon to automatically check for updates :

1. Choose the Check for MDaemon updates... command from the Help menu of the MDaemon administration application.
2. Use the Advanced command button.
3. Enter for Check Interval the number of days between checking for updates. Entering zero (0) disables automatic checking.
