Make Your Gateway Secure

Introduction

Any security settings applied to the server or all domains in the server also apply to the gateways.

Requirements

Know your security settings. They are located mostly in the commands accessible through the Setup >Security Settings cascading menu.

There are also security functions designed especially for the gateways.

How To

To make the server secure for gateways.

1. Use the commands in the Setup >Security Settings cascading menu to:
   • Control access to the server
   • Require authentication
2. Set up MD AntiVirus to filter out viruses.
3. Use the spam fighting tools to reduce the potential of spammers.
4. Use the New Gateway... command from the Gateways menu to create gateways which then benefit from the security while receiving and forwarding messages.
