Spam Blocking-Add or Remove a
Spam Blocker Black List Site
Introduction
|
This howto describes black listing for the AntiSpam Spam Blocker. The AntiSpam Spam
Filter also uses black listing of a different type. |
While the Spam Blocker comes with several black list sites entered by default, you can delete these and
add others. You might do this because of their criteria for adding and removing servers from their black
lists.
Requirements
You must know the:
- URL of a black list--you can find black list sites by using the Web search engines.
- message you want to return to senders from black listed servers.
- contact URL of those who maintain the black list to include in the message returned to black
listed server.
- testing instructions to verify that the black list is working with your email server.
Not all black list sites may have a test.
How To
These instructions show how to enter a list from the spam.rack.us black list, which is fictional, as far as we
know. To do this:
- Use the Spam blocker command from the Security menu. This displays the Spam Blocker
dialog.

- Enter spam.rack.us in the New host text box.
- Enter mail from $IP$ refused by SRU, see http://spam.rack.us/contacts.html or something
similar in the Message Text box.
- Use the Add command button to add the black list to the Spam Block hosts.
(You can delete a black list by selecting it and using the Remove command button.
- Use the OK command button to exit from the Spam Blocker.
- Test the set up by following the instructions from the black list site.
