Introduction

This howto describes black listing for the AntiSpam Spam Blocker. The AntiSpam Spam Filter also uses black listing of a different type.

There may be servers you want to let in, despite their being on a black list.

Requirements

You need to know the IP address of the server or the IP address range of a group of servers you want to exempt.

How To

To do this:

  1. Use the Spam blocker command from the Security menu. This displays the Spam Blocker dialog.
  2. Select the Spam Blocker Engine tab.
  3. Use the Exceptions command button near the bottom of the dialog. this displays the Spam Blocker Exemptions dialog.
  4. Type the IP address in the IP Address text box.
This can be a single address or use wild cards to exempt a range. Example includes:
    192.*.*.*
    192.168.1.104
It is a good idea to exempt your email server to reduce the amount of processing.
  5. Use the Add command button. This displays the address in the list of exempted IPs.
(To remove an item from the list, select it and use the Remove command button.)
  6. Use the OK command button to return to the Spam Blocker dialog.
  7. Use the OK command button to complete the process.
